I was privileged to officiate my sister’s wedding this past weekend. I am so grateful I was able to be part of their special day - I’ll be relishing in it until the day that I die. There was a tremendous sense of love and joy in the air on January 18th, 2025, and I wanted to try to share some of it with all of you.
What you read below is the script I wrote for the ceremony. Even though it doesn’t do justice to the real thing, you can hear me re-create the experience in the attached audio file.
Syri & Spencer’s Wedding Procession
Thank you all for being here, and for braving the elements with us today. We expect to have you back inside in the next 15 minutes or so.
Syri and Spencer - thank you for bringing us all together. I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to be up here with you on your special day. I actually was inspired to write a poem in your honor, and that’s where I want to start things off. It’s called Eighteen.
